Isiah, our Senior Youth Worker, shares a new development in West Suffolk supporting young LGBT*Q+ people.
“We’re excited to announce the launch of a new LGBTQ+ youth group in Brandon, Suffolk, thanks to an amazing partnership with Brandon Pride!
It all started when Outreach Youth was invited to attend Brandon Pride’s very first event. The energy and enthusiasm we felt that day were incredible, and the community’s support didn’t stop there.
Brandon Pride went above and beyond, including raising funds for our charity and showing us just how much the local community cares about its young LGBT*Q+ people and their families.
With such a warm and supportive welcome, it was clear that Brandon was the perfect place for us to expand our work. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Brandon Pride, young LGBTQ+ people, local businesses, and community supporters to create a space where young LGBT*Q+ people can truly belong.
The new monthly LGBT*Q+ youth group will be a safe, fun, and inclusive space where LGBT*Q+ young people can meet, share experiences, and build friendships. We’re planning some fantastic activities, from creative workshops to social events, all with the goal of reducing isolation and supporting young people’s well-being. Plus, our supportive youth workers will be there to listen, chat, and offer guidance whenever it’s needed.
This collaboration is a testament to the power of community and what can be achieved when people come together to support each other. We can’t wait to see this group grow and thrive.
